Westfield Shopping Centre located in Shepherds Bush, London, engaged APT Security Systems to provide a solution that would protect the entry and exit points of the service delivery areas of the building against a hostile borne attack. APT Security Systems provided a design brief and was subsequently awarded a contract to supply and install anti-terroist PAS 68:2010 road blockers and bollards.

Gatwick Construction Limited (GCL) was the preferred contractor to undertake the installation element of the works and associated civils (including the enabling and reinstatement works) due to our experience of such installations and strong stakeholder management capability.

The installation had to be completed with minimum disruption to the operational effectiveness of the shopping centre, which proved to be challenging, due to the number of parties affected by the works.

Working closely with both the Westfield management team and consultants involved, GCL were able to install the scheme with minimal disruption to the normal operations.

The installation included for:

a. 4 No 3 metre wide surface road blockers.
b. 7 No 2 metre wide surface road blockers.
C. 13 No removable bollards to pedestrian only areas.
d. 2 No automatic rising bollards.

GCL were able to undertake and successfully complete this works on schedule and within budget.

The overall installation provided Westfield Shopping Centre with increased protection required in the event of a vehicle borne terrorist attack.
